As the energy transition accelerates, utilities face the challenge of anticipating rising electricity demand while reducing uncertainty in load forecasting. This webinar will provide insights into how a major electric distribution company is preparing for that future.

Participants will learn how data experts at a large northeastern US utility are projecting electric demand scenarios that consider state-specific decarbonization goals and other increasing electric demand scenarios.

Shira Horowitz, Director of Load Forecasting & Analytics at National Grid, will share her expertise on how the company incorporates decarbonization goals into load forecasts including: electrification of heat, electrification of transportation, DG and demand side management into load forecasts.

Shira previously worked at Con Edison and PJM Interconnection. Shira spent a year in Sweden at the Royal Institute of Technology completing a Fulbright in sustainable power generation, and working at Vattenfall Windpower. She holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union and a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
