Presentations & Speakers
Lessons Learned: A Cost-Effective Path to Carbon-Free Manufacturing
David McDougall is a recognized expert in Net Zero strategy and energy decarbonization, working at the intersection of cost-effective engineering and sustainability. David McDougall will present a behind-the-scenes case study of Munters’ North American flagship manufacturing facility in Amesbury, Massachusetts. This state-of-the-art project demonstrates how ambitious decarbonization goals can be realized through practical engineering, innovative process changes, and strategic energy efficiency measures. His insights offer a practical roadmap for engineers, facility managers, and energy professionals working toward decarbonization in real-world applications. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of this state-of-the-art facility.
High-Efficiency & Highly Effective Dehumidification: Reducing Energy Use with Munters Technology
This presentation will explore how advanced desiccant-based dehumidification technologies deliver highly effective moisture control while significantly reducing energy consumption compared to conventional HVAC approaches. The discussion will highlight the engineering principles, system optimization methods, and analytical tools that support superior performance and lower total cost of ownership.
Douglas Jefferson is a Software Development Engineering Manager with over 28 years of experience at Munters. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and specializes in system design and optimization using desiccant technologies. His work focuses on engineering software development, energy analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling to support high-performance, efficient system solutions.
Ben Kalinowski, P.E. is Director of Research and Development for the Americas at Munters, based in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He has 26 years of experience at Munters and has held roles including Product Engineering Manager and Product Line Manager, spanning product development, engineering leadership, and commercialization. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is named on multiple patents related to rotor technology and manufacturing. Ben led key workstreams for the new 14 South Hunt Road facility, including the 30,000‑square‑foot Technology Center and Climate Testing Center, and works closely with global, cross‑functional R&D teams.
Getting There
The event will be held at the manufacturing facility located at 14 South Hunt Road, Amesbury. GPS may lead you to a large soccer field in a bubble and from there you can follow the long driveway up the hill to the large building at the top of the hill, with a Munters sign.
