 Heat Pump Applications 

Heat pumps are designed to move thermal energy opposite to the direction of spontaneous heat flow by absorbing heat from a cold space and releasing it to a warmer one. A heat pump uses some amount of external power to accomplish the work of transferring energy from the heat source to the heat sink.  In heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) applications, the term heat pump usually refers to easily reversible vapor-compression refrigeration devices optimized for high efficiency in both directions of thermal energy transfer.  Newer technology is available that helps to make air source, water source and ground source heat pumps more competitive than they have been in the past.  Come hear our panel of experts talk about this technology and what makes their solutions efficient when compared to other solutions.

Additionally, in Massachusetts, recent legislation has allowed for some of these technologies to be eligible for participation in renewable energy incentive programs from the State. We will also hear from our utility experts in how incentive funds from the utility can be used to offset costs.

The structure for this technical roundtable event will include a period of presentations by the panelists followed by an open question and answer period with plenty of time and opportunity for discussion.  The panelists include:

Audience members are welcome to attend this event to listen to the panelists and ask questions. This event has a $5 fee to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
