Zero Net Energy Buildings

Zero Net Energy Buildings (ZNEB), are buildings that produce as much energy as the building consumes.  These buildings are still in the early stages of adoption but are increasing in numbers.

You may have heard of the outstanding Passive House design concept that is popular in both Europe and in the U.S. or you may be imagining homes heated with wood and without air conditioning.  In theory, any building could be zero net energy, if equipped with enough alternative energy generation, but this comes at a high cost.  The leaders in this industry sector are focused on creating highly efficient buildings to manage the capacity requirements of renewable systems.  The Commonwealth of MA already has one ZNEB up and running.

At this meeting, we will be discussing what features go into a ZNEB, how practical they are and how long it may be before they become common practice in New England.  We will also be sharing some details of the Commonwealth of MA’s second ZNEB effort, the Wildlife Division facility, in construction in Westborough.

All sales are final. Refunds must be requested 5 days prior to an event in writing or by email for a full refund. Refund requests occuring less than 5 days prior to an event will be handled on a case-by-case basis.  Credits may be issued to be used for future event registrations.  We do not refund "no-shows".
